Short Film competition 2018 – Closed for Entries

I hope you’ve all had a nice summer and managed to enjoy a break and some of the beautiful weather we’ve had here or by going abroad!

I wanted to update you all on our Short Film Competition and I am absolutely delighted to confirm that the Performance Short Film Competition closed for entries on the 31^st August at midnight with over 300 entries! I wanted to thank everyone who has submitted their work to our competition – we’re truly honoured.

The huge amount of entries and the reception we have had since the launch has been fantastic and shows how much the industry values support to help get productions made. We’ll be building on this competition in 2019 as we look to continue to support YOU, and help where we can to develop the film and media industry.

I am now in a position to confirm our core judging panel, with a couple more names to be added, and you can find out about them here.

As the competition is now shut for entries, I’ve got some key dates for your diaries:

We’ll be creating an initial shortlist for both of the events individually by 30^th September
We’ll be announcing the final shortlist of films by the 18^th of October – if you make the final shortlist, you’ll be invited to the awards event. The final shortlisted films will be judged by our core judging panel and feedback will be provided. The winners will be announced on the night of the awards.
The London Awards event will be held on the 7^th November from 18:00 at The Aviva Digital Garage, 33-35 Hoxton Square, London N1 6NN. This event will be by invitation only.
The Belfast Awards event will be held on the 16^th November in the centre of Belfast. We are just finalising a venue for this and will then share more details with you! Again this event will be by invitation only.
