Producers' Indemnity Insurance

Get a Quote

Producers’ Indemnity, also known as Production Cover, will protect your production budget from losses due to the injury, illness or death of cast members, or for the delay or abandonment of a shoot due to circumstances beyond your control. It is a form of professional indemnity insurance that will be able to cover your budget and is specific for the tv and film industry.

What is covered by Producers Indemnity Insurance?

A typical producers indemnity policy includes cover for a range of liabilities. With production companies or freelance producers, an indemnity policy needs to be more bespoke to the media industry.

For example, if a location you will be shooting at is destroyed in the days leading up to a shoot, causing delays and additional expense finding alternative locations, your production company is covered. Alternatively, if you need to cancel this would be covered with your policy.

In the event of a claim, the policy will pay out for either the additional expenditure incurred to complete the production, or in the case of abandonment, you will be compensated for the expenditure already incurred.

The cover will automatically operate on a worldwide basis (excluding anywhere the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against travel to).

Our understanding is based on our own personal experiences. We are aware of the vast spectrum of dangers that exist in this business, as well as the large diversity of people that work in it. That’s why, whether you’re a well-established production company, a freelancer, or a student just starting out, we take a personal approach to finding you the best cover.

We offer bespoke cover to most sectors within tv, film and media for both annual and short period; not just professional indemnity insurance.
