– Films completed after 1st January 2023
– Films with a  run time of over 20 minutes
– Any pornographic or ‘adult’ films.

1.1 You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions by submitting a Competition entry.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Competition is open to all residents in England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland aged 18 years or over, except employees (and/or their immediate families or households) of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies.
2.2 The Promoter will not accept Competition entries that are incomplete, illegible, or have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with.
2.3 There is a limit of one entry per person per film submitted in a category. For the avoidance of doubt, multiple films can be submitted and each film entered can be submitted into different categories (where appropriate), however each film can only be submitted one time in each category.
3. Additional Requirements for Entry
3.1 The entrant must own the whole of the copyright in the short film submitted. In circumstances where the short film or parts thereof are derived from or contain images, sounds or material from an existing work, the entrants must have obtained written copyright clearance from the owner of that existing work for the use of that existing work which must be produced to the Promoter on demand. In circumstances where the short film or parts thereof contain images of persons, locations, marks, trademarks and any other images which would require permission for their use, the entrants must have received appropriate written releases for their use which must be produced to the Promoter on demand. The entrant shall indemnify the Promoter in respect of any and all liability arising from any infringement of any rights whatsoever that may arise in respect of the short film submitted and, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with the conditions set out in this clause 3.
3.2 The short film must not defame any person or entity, or be disparaging to any religion, race, or nation, or contain language that is lewd, obscene or inappropriate, or use any copyrights, images, marks, trademarks or logos for which the entrant has not obtained permission for their use. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with the conditions set out in this clause 3.
3.3 The entrant must indicate whether or not they grant to the Promoter a nonexclusive, irrevocable license to the Promoter to publish their short film on the Promoter’s website and communicate their short film to the public in the territory of the world, and in full or in part in any other promotional material of the Promoter, for the purposes of the Competition.
4. How to enter
4.1 To enter the Competition, you must

4.2 The Promoter must receive All Competition entries through the specified method by no later than 17.00 on the Closing Date. All Competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
4.3 No purchase is necessary.
4.4 The Promoter will not accept responsibility for Competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid. Entrants bear all responsibility to ensure that their entry is complete and legible, and that their short film is submitted in the correct format and clearly visible and audible.
4.5 By entering the Competition, entrants hereby warrant that all information submitted is true, current and complete. Any entrants who have supplied incomplete, inaccurate or fraudulent information may be automatically disqualified. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe that an entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions or has tampered with the Competition process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage of the Competition does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
5. Selection process and claiming the prize
5.1 Prizes are subject to availability. There is one (1) prize available to be won in each of the five film categories (as designated in clause 5.2 below) for a total of five (5) prizes available to be won. . The prize is not negotiable, refundable or transferable. Each winner shall comply with any additional terms and conditions and/or exclusions which may apply to the prize.
5.2 Following the Closing Date, the entries to the Competition shall be judged in the following distinct categories: 1) Best Comedy Short; 2) Best ‘Short’ Short (less than 5 minutes in length); 3) Best Documentary Short; 4) Best Horror Short; and 5) Best Drama. Submitted films will go through two stages of judging. The first stage will be judged by the Promoter and a decision made as to which entrants will make it to the next round. The second stage will be judged by industry friends in the film and media space and a winner from each category will be selected. Subject to clause 54.1, the selection is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
5.3 The Promoter will contact eachthe winner via the contact information provided. The Promoter will not amend contact information after submitting the Competition entry form.
5.4 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If athe winner cannot be contacted or has not claimed their prize within 30 (thirty) days of being notified, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries received before the Closing Date. The Promoter accepts no responsibility if you cannot take up the prize. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
5.5 If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published, please contact the Promoter. In such circumstances, the Promoter may still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
6. Data protection and publicity
The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy https://www.performance-insurance.com/privacy-notice/. See also condition 54.5 with regard to the announcement of winners.
7. Limitation of liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any entrant to the Competition or accept any liability for any direct or indirect loss and/or damage occurring as a result of participating in the Competition, including but not limited to, taking up the prize. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8. General
8.1 The Promoter reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, exclude or disqualify any participant whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Competition or who is in breach of these terms and conditions.
8.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold, void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize Competition where necessary.
8.3 In the event of a discrepancy between these terms and conditions and the provisions of any promotional material relating to the Competition, the provisions in these terms and conditions will prevail.
8.4 These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the parties will submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
