2020 Recap

2021, we’re here and ready to go!

I hope you all managed to get a good break over the holiday period and recharge ahead of what is hopefully a busy, successful 2021 for you.

I feel now more than ever it’s important to reflect on the positives, so I wanted to share a couple of ours that we discussed as a team at the end of 2020.

  1. Continuing the Performance Short Film Competition for the third year running, this time via Zoom, was a real highlight. We received 684 entries for the competition; that number still astounds me! Six winners received £750 each to put towards their next project, bringing the total number of projects we have play a small part in supporting to 13 since the launch of the competition three years ago. This is something we’re all truly proud of.
  2. We launched a new system for you all to get short period insurance when you need it for one-off projects, cutting down the time it should take to get insurance from seven minutes to four. We didn’t quite halve the time as we hoped but it was a real step forward nonetheless!
  3. Last year alone we were able to help 13 projects buy running competitions, this is something we are keen to continue throughout 2021.

I look forward to hopefully being able to see as many of you as possible at some point in the next year or so at events, screenings or meetings.

Until then, let’s smash 2021!
